In order to help each child learn in a caring and safe environment we will follow the rules below.
1. Follow directions quickly.
2. Listen carefully and pay attention when the teacher is speaking.
3. Raise your hand before talking or getting out of seat.
4. Keep hands, feet, objects, and unkind words to yourself.
5. Zero zone in hallways at all times.
6. Restaurant behavior in the cafeteria.
7. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Grading Scales
A 93-100 E - Excellent
B 85 – 92 G - Good
C 75 – 84 S - Satisfactory
D 70 – 74 N - Needs Improvement
F 0 – 69 U – Unsatisfactory
Homework:
Reading will rotate between Fluency & Comprehension.
Math Skill Practice Sheet
Homework will come home on Fridays and be due the next Friday.
Science/Social Studies:
**We will focus on a unit in Science for 2 weeks then focus on a unit in Social Studies for 2
weeks.
Folders/Notebooks
Graded papers will come home weekly. If the paper is below a 70, We ask that you have your child correct his/her mistakes, then you sign or initial and return it. All other papers can be kept at home.
THE IMPORTANCE OF READING WITH A CHILD
Reading is an instrumental part of your child’s academic success. It is essential that every reading experience is enjoyable, challenging, and memorable for all students.
It is my goal as your child’s teacher to ensure that he/she develops confidence and enthusiasm towards a lifetime of reading.
READING TIPS FOR PARENTS
Transportation
* If your child is to get home any way other than what we have listed, we MUST have a note. This is for your child’s protection. We cannot take the students word for a change in transportation. If your child rides the bus to a field trip they must ride it back to the school.
Lunch Money
* Cash or check (phone number must be on checks)
* Please try to send money on Mondays.
The cost of lunch is $2.75 for students and $4.50 for adults.
Extra snacks are available to purchase.
Visitors are always welcome for lunch. Please check in at the office and meet us at the cafeteria. Only you and your child can eat at the visitor’s table. No parents are allowed to eat at the students’ table.
T-Shirts Tuesdays
We will wear our class t-shirt EVERY Tuesday!
Birthdays
* We will have one day a month for birthday celebrations. Our room mom will contact
volunteers to send in birthday snacks for the month. MUST be store bought.
* Party invitations are allowed to be passed out, only if there is one for everyone in the class
OR one for all the same gender as your child.
Notes from the Office
1.) Parents MUST sign in any student in that arrives to school after 8:00am.
2.) NO checkouts after 2:30pm.
3.) All dismissal changes should be made before 2:30pm.
4.) If a student is absent please send a note, email the teacher or call the school within 48 hours.
5.) Please try to help students pack needed items for the day.
6.) Teachers are NOT allowed to give any type of medication to students. If medication needs to be administered at
school, you will need to take it to the office and complete appropriate paperwork.
7.) ALL visitors must sign in at the office and get a visitors badge.
8.) Students may enter the building at 7:45. Students may not get to school earlier than 7:45 unless they are going to
breakfast at 7:30.
9.) Please include phone number & student’s name on all checks.
10.) No rolling backpacks.
11.) Cell Phones/electronics MUST be off & stored in backpack during school hours. AES is not responsible for lost or
stolen electronics.
12.) No student deliveries allowed. (balloons, flowers, food, etc)
13.)Dress Code - Head apparel (such as hoods, hat, etc.), except for religious or medical reasons, must not be worn
inside the school building.
Footwear is required and must be safe and appropriate for indoor or outdoor physical activity.
AES students must have heel straps on sandals. Flip-flops are not allowed.
